🍶 We’re looking for artists who want to perform live on the street at “MAPS,” a street bar in Shibuya Center-gai 🍶

What is MAPS Street Live?
MAPS Street Live is a concert series held at the street bar “Shibuya Street Bar MAPS,” located just a short walk from the Arch Gate in Shibuya Center-gai. It combines the open-air atmosphere of a street performance with the relaxed ambiance unique to a bar.
Unlike a traditional live house, where performances are aimed solely at those who have come specifically to listen to music, a major feature of this event is that it naturally brings music to passersby—including tourists from overseas—as they stroll through the streets.
At the same time, unlike typical street performances that are entirely at the mercy of the conditions on the spot, the presence of the bar space makes it easier for people to stop and listen, creating an environment where performers can express themselves with confidence.
Right in the heart of Shibuya, it offers both “music you stumble upon by chance” and “a space where people actually listen.”
With its prime location in Shibuya Center-gai, it reaches a large number of international visitors.
That is MAPS Street Live.
Shibuya Street Bar MAPS

This space combines the freedom of the street with the calm and comfort of a bar, creating a place where passersby can naturally stop by.
During the day, it serves as a free rest area for international visitors, and on weekends, the “Shibuya Bai Market” is held here. Additionally, participatory outdoor advertising campaigns in collaboration with “SHIBUYA CITY FC,” a team in the Kanto Soccer League Division 1, are conducted. Its role continues to expand beyond that of a mere bar, evolving into a space where art, culture, and technology intersect.
Right in the heart of Shibuya, where people, music, and diverse genres come together.

Interviews with Street Performers
Many street musicians are holding live performances on MAPS!
A place where you can reach a wide audience and have encounters unlike any other!

The sound carries all the way to Shibuya Center Street, so it’s great that so many different people get to hear us.
Not just people passing by, but even visitors from overseas would stop and listen—I felt like I was having encounters that are different from my usual routine.
Even though it’s on the street in Shibuya Center Street, it’s a spot where busking is allowed, so we never get complaints or told to stop, which I’m really grateful for, haha
The shop decorations change with the seasons, creating a really atmospheric and emotional vibe. I think it’s great to be able to perform in an environment like this.
It’s such a great place where you can feel comfortable performing with your guitar right in the heart of the city!

Since it’s Shibuya Center-gai, I get lots of chances to play for international visitors, and it’s really refreshing and fun to see reactions that are different from what I usually get.
Even though it’s a street performance, it’s at a street bar, so no one ever tells me to stop, and I’m so grateful that I can play with peace of mind!
The staff are all so kind, and they let me borrow a chair, so I always play while sitting down, lol. Plus, having Wi-Fi here is a godsend, lol.
The shop’s decor is cute and fun to look at, and as a performer, I really feel like this is a place I’m truly grateful for.

Why We Play Live at MAPS
The unbeatable location of Shibuya Center-gai
In busy areas, you can naturally share your music with passersby and international tourists. It’s an environment where even newcomers can easily discover you.
An environment that reaches international audiences
Since this is an area with a high volume of international visitors, there are opportunities for people from overseas to come and listen. This leads to different kinds of reactions and encounters compared to our usual live shows.
Street Performances Where People Actually Listen
One of its key features is that, while it has the open feel of a street, it also functions as a bar, making it easy for people to stop by and enjoy the music.
A place where you can perform with confidence
Although it’s a street performance, the setting allows you to relax and focus on your performance.
Close to customers
We’re close to the audience, so we get immediate feedback. It’s an environment that makes it easy to connect with fans, including through communication.
A place that leads to future opportunities
It can also serve as an opportunity to expand the scope of your activities, such as through regular appearances, participation in events, and promotions on social media.
