As you walk through Shibuya Center-gai, you may notice something a little different about the streets.

Special decorations featuring the Nebuta Festival and Shibuya Konnomaru, a legendary figure associated with Shibuya, have appeared on the streetlights, bringing a festive atmosphere to Center-gai.

From September 17 (Thu) to 19 (Sat), Nebuta displays will also be on show in Shibuya Center-gai, with a special Nebuta parade scheduled for the evening of September 19 (Sat).

Known as one of Aomori’s famous summer festivals, Nebuta is coming to the heart of Tokyo for three special days.

If you’re visiting Shibuya this week, take a break from shopping and dining and look out for a different side of Center-gai!
